What Square + PingBell does together
Connect Square to PingBell in one click: approve the connection on Square’s side and PingBell wires everything for you — no developer dashboard, no webhook URLs, no API keys. From then on, every completed Square payment (point-of-sale or online) becomes a counter update, a push notification on the team’s phones, and a point on the live graph, within seconds of the card tapping. Refunds can run on their own counter so your sales number stays honest.
Use cases
- Retail shops on Square POS with a live sales counter where the whole floor can see it
- Restaurants and cafés broadcasting the day’s revenue to back-of-house
- Boutique fitness studios counting membership payments at the front desk
- Owners who aren’t in the store getting the register’s cha-ching on their phone
- Stores that care about clean numbers keeping refunds on a separate counter
Setup
- In PingBell, open Sources and click the Square tile.
- Approve access on Square — you’re sent to Square’s own sign-in and back in one round trip.
- Pick what should ring the bell: Sales (default) and, if you want it, Refunds.
- Design a board around the counters, or keep the ready-made one.
- Pair a screen — a TV running the PingBell app, or any browser tab.
Done. Total setup: about five minutes.
Why PingBell for Square sellers
Square’s dashboard is built for the owner at a desk. PingBell is built for the room: native TV apps for Roku, Fire TV, Android TV and Apple TV, boards you design to match the shop, and unlimited screens with no per-screen fees. The register rings once — PingBell makes sure everyone hears it.
FAQ
Which payments count?
Completed payments only. Pending and authorized-but-not-captured payments don’t ring — the counter tracks money that landed.
Does it cover both in-person and online payments?
Yes. Everything that completes through your Square account rings the same bell — POS taps, Square Online orders, invoices, payment links.
Do refunds subtract from the sales counter?
Refunds get their own counter (if you enable the Refunds topic), so sales stay sales and refunds are visible on their own line.
Does it work with Square for Restaurants and Square for Retail?
Yes — payments from every Square product flow through the same completed-payment event.
Do I need anything from Square’s developer tools?
No. The connection is a standard Square sign-in-and-approve. PingBell handles everything technical.
